FRØSTFÆDRIN - The Call of the White Griffin | Part 2 | Live reading (pre-reading version)

Reading 2

On May 23, I published part 2 of a very special version of FRØSTFÆDRIN read: the unabridged original version before proofreading - a version that will no longer exist in this form. A piece of magic that only existed in this moment and has now been captured for you. Join Alex and Ozzy on their journey into the world of Veloria - a realm of eternal winter, floating cities and forgotten dreams.

You can expect a dark fantasy adventure full of bittersweet romance, ancient prophecies and the magic of the 80s.

✨ At the end of the reading, there was a small Q&A session: I shared some background with the audience, listened to their thoughts and answered questions - inspiration that might even find its way into the final version of the book.

Blurb:

"Beyond the last star lies a realm where lost dreams find refuge and time dances in endless circles..."

Mammoth Lakes, fall 1985: For Alex Winther, this sleepy mountain town in the Sierra Nevada is a desolate exile. His Walkman and the thundering guitar riffs of Black Sabbath are his last anchors in a world that has forgotten him.

In his deceased great-grandmother's old house, Alex discovers a silver egg that reacts to his music. What hatches from it changes everything: Ozzy, a snow-white griffin that grows faster than Alex can hide it.

As Alex tries to juggle his new life, the growing griffin and his burgeoning feelings for his girlfriend Marie, the shadows around him grow thicker. A sinister stranger appears, and an ancient portal draws Alex into another world. Veloria - a realm of eternal winter and floating cities - is dying.

An all-consuming blackness eats its way through Veloria. A cruel tyrant feeds on people's dwindling imagination and subjugates the last free towns and villages with his army of shadows. The Shadow Walkers, the Vornis'thrall - his sinister servants - hunt down lost children and steal their dreams. With every heart that forgets to wonder, another gateway between the worlds fades.

In Veloria, Alex meets Lyra - a warrior of ice and defiance who would rather see him fail than trust him. But a dangerous closeness grows between mistrust and magic - and sometimes there is only a single heartbeat between hate and hope.

An ancient prophecy, born from the legends of the Paiute and the songs of Norse myths, speaks of Frøstfǽdrin - the Snow Feather - who can bring back the light. And everything points to Alex and Ozzy being the keys to saving both worlds - or losing them forever.

FRØSTFÆDRIN - The call of the white griffin is the prelude to the atmospheric Echoes of Neverland saga - a dark fantasy adventure full of bittersweet romance, nostalgic 80s magic and a world in which floating cities drift across frozen landscapes, gas lanterns illuminate hidden alleyways and mechanical marvels whisper between ice and fog. For all those who have been inspired by the stories of The Brothers Lionheart, Willow, Walter Moers and Terry Pratchett rediscover the magic of wonder - and for readers of His Dark Materials and The never-ending storywho are looking for new wonders.

A snow-white griffin. A hidden world. An adventure that changes everything. "Where dreams fly and shadows hide, magic awakens in the hearts of those who still believe in miracles." - Maxim Matthew
